Lumito AB (publ) ("Lumito" or the "Company") announces today tha Company’s founder and Board member Stefan Andersson-Engels has participated as an invited speaker at the prestigious conference Optics and Photonics in Medicine and Biology Gordon Research Conference (GRC) 2026.

During the conference, Stefan Andersson-Engels presented the lecture "Illuminating Biology Across Scales: Upconverting Nanoparticles as Background-Free Contrast Agents for Precision Imaging." The presentation focused on the use of upconverting nanoparticles for high-precision imaging – a field of research that forms the scientific foundation of Lumito's technology.

The Gordon Research Conferences are an internationally recognised series of scientific conferences that bring together leading researchers from around the world to discuss the latest advances in biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, and related disciplines. The conferences are dedicated to cutting-edge research and provide a unique forum for scientific exchange on emerging topics at the forefront of their respective fields.

"It was a great honour to present our work at the Gordon Research Conference. The engagement from the audience was very encouraging, and it highlights the growing interest in advanced imaging technologies. I look forward to continuing to contribute to this field together with Lumito", says Stefan Andersson-Engels, founder and Board member of Lumito.

Stefan Andersson-Engels is a professor of physics at University College Cork and Head of Biophotonics at Tyndall National Institute in Ireland. He has published more than 300 scientific papers and is internationally recognised for his contributions to the fields of biomedical optics and photonics.
